Buxton Raceway

As most people are now aware Dave Pierce has resigned from his position of Promoter at Buxton Raceway, and I would like to introduce myself as the New Promoter. Dave has put an enormous amount of time and effort into the Raceway since he took over in 1999 from my Father, as did his wife Anne, and I would like to thank them for this, and also the help they have both extended to me over the last four years, whilst I have been working alongside them, in anticipation of this takeover.

I have been around the racing scene all my life, as my father owns the stadium, but during the last four years I have learned an awful lot off Dave, which will help me to run the track successfully in the future.

I am in the process of contacting existing staff members, and to date they are all enthusiastic about supporting me and Buxton Raceway in the future and I am confident the track will continue to run in the fashion you have become accustomed to over the last eleven years.

Dave had great plans to improve the place, which he has done over time, and I will continue this programme with an indoor café area and completion of the terracing on the pit bend, as and when funds permit.

In conclusion, whilst I could be classed a youngster at just 21, what I have learnt from Dave has given me a great start, and with his continued support by working in the office I am confident that the future looks bright for Buxton Raceway. Everybody makes mistakes, even Dave would admit to that, but this is how you learn, and we are only at the end of the phone should you need either of us.
