ORCi AGM 2022

Members of the ORCi met for the Annual General Meeting 10th January 2022 in Lytham St Annes, getting together as a collective for only the second time in 12months due to the Covid19 Pandemic.

The AGM saw the formalities of confirming key positions of the ORCi for the 2022 season; Mr Steve Rees was re-confirmed to the appointment of Chairman, Mr Paul Butler to the position of Vice-Chairman and Mr Keith Organ as Secretary.

A meeting of Full Council ORCi members and key stakeholders followed; a productive and constructive 5 and a half hours followed. The Short Oval Community continues to face challenges from a number of factors, but in general the Sport had weathered the Covid Pandemic largely ok, given there was no funding in the same way that British Speedway received for example. The ORCi focused on looking to the future and how the Sport can build on, with a number of initiatives behind the scenes. As we move to learn to live with the Pandemic, the ORCi is fully committed to safe guard the Sport as best as it can and exploring opportunities presented.

Thank you everyone for supporting the raceways in 2021; we look forward to seeing you trackside in 2022.

Keith Organ

ORCi Secretary
